Landing a spacecraft on the moon?  That is a special title reserved for world super powers like the United States, Russia, and most recently, China.  Penn State is looking to break into this club and has ambitious plans to land a spacecraft on the moon.

 

As to be expected, this mission will be quite costly, and the University is looking to crowd funding to help pay for this endeavor.  Dubbed the Lunar Lion, this moon lander will offer those who help fund the project some very unique gifts.  These gifts range from a mission patch to getting your name in gold leaf, which will permanently reside on the moon.
